These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to the use of the Otto Discord Bot ("Otto" or "the Bot") and any related website or services. By inviting, using, or interacting with Otto, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By adding Otto to your Discord server, using Otto's commands, or interacting with features provided by Otto, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must remove Otto from your server and stop using the Bot.

2. Eligibility

You must comply with Discord's own Terms of Service and age requirements. Otto is intended for users who:

  • Are at least 13 years old, or the minimum age in your region.
  • Have permission to manage bots on the servers where Otto is invited.
  • Agree to follow Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

3. Bot Functionality & Usage

Otto provides moderation tools, mental-health-friendly utilities, and general server tools. This can include, but is not limited to:

  • Moderation commands such as warnings, strikes, timeouts, and purges.
  • Mental health features such as check-ins and resource messaging.
  • Server utilities such as welcome messages, suggestion handling, and info commands.

You agree not to use Otto to:

  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
  • Automate or assist any illegal or harmful activity.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or damage the Bot or its services.

4. Data & Logs

Otto stores limited data that is required for its features to work properly. Examples include:

  • Discord IDs (user, guild, and channel IDs).
  • Moderation logs (warnings, strikes, timeouts, etc.).
  • Configuration settings (e.g., suggestion channel, welcome channel).
  • Feature-specific data such as check-in entries or suggestions.

Otto does not intentionally store passwords, email addresses, or other personal information outside what Discord makes available via its API. For more details, please see the Privacy Policy.

5. Availability & Changes

Otto is provided on an "as available" basis. We may update, modify, or remove features at any time without notice. We may also temporarily or permanently disable the Bot for maintenance, security reasons, or other operational needs.

We reserve the right to change or discontinue any part of the service at our discretion.

6. Prohibited Use & Misuse

You may not use Otto in a way that violates Discord's rules, applicable laws, or these Terms. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Automating mass harassment or raids.
  • Bypassing or attempting to bypass Discord safety limits.
  • Abusing mental health features to mock, harm, or target users.

We reserve the right to block or restrict Otto's use in specific servers if we detect abuse or high-risk behavior.

7. Liability

Otto is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that Otto will be error-free, uninterrupted, or secure.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any:

  • Loss of data or configuration.
  • Incorrect moderation actions caused by server configuration or misuse.
  • Damages resulting from reliance on Otto's responses or features.
  • Behavior of server owners, admins, or users who use Otto.

8. Termination

You may stop using Otto at any time by removing the Bot from your server. We may also terminate or restrict access to Otto for any reason, including:

  • Suspected abuse or harmful usage.
  • Violation of these Terms or Discord's rules.
  • Security or stability concerns.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Otto after changes have been posted means you accept the updated Terms.
